The Raveyard

Submission for Global Game Jam 2022

The theme for the GGJ 2022 was "duality," and with a 48 hour time limit, my small team came up with The Raveyard!

Our take on the theme was bringing the high-impact energy and enthusiasm of a rave to a place that's supposed to be quiet and still.

As a level designer, this small puzzle game left me with focusing more on the environment than gameplay. Working with the artists on my team, it was up to us to quickly make an appropriate dance floor for our main character Chad the Necromancer and his skeleton friends to party on.

Puzzle games are not typically within my normal skillset, however due to time constraints, I had to learn, and fast. A small game like this was a great opportunity to learn and appreciate how much work can go into games like these, which are normally in a mobile game format.

The Shadow of

Angel Springs

Submission for Scream Jam 2021 on Itch.io

The Shadow of Angel Springs is a short horror game set in the American Wild West. It takes place in an abandoned town, where the player must survive the attacks of a shadow demon lurking in the darkness, armed with only a candle.


I worked over the course of 10 days on a team of 8 people, where in addition to being the producer, I was working on level, environment, sound, and gameplay design. A little bit of everything!

The Shadow of Angel Springs needed to have a contained level due to time limits, so our response to this was a very simple gameplay system and a small level. The goal is to survive against the demon in the shadows, so the player needs to keep their flame alive. In order to make this an engaging experience, we made the AI for the shadow extremely aggressive, and I was relied on heavily in order to properly set the scene.


Most of the success of this game was its setting, making is sufficiently tense and frightening, and as the level designer, I had to make the most out of only a handful of assets in order to make that a reality, and in a very short amount of time. All of this, while also being the producer for 8 people, and all of us being full-time students! It was a high-paced, tense experience, but very rewarding!
